Teenage female immigrant in the early 1900s in front of a backdrop of the head of the Statue of Liberty

The Robert H. Jackson Center is pleased to welcome back the remarkable talent of Living Voices (part of TheatreWorks USA) on Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7, 2023 to perform “The New American” in our Cappa Theatre.

This live, interactive performance will offer the audience a view into the journey in steerage from Ireland to Ellis Island to the sweatshops of New York City, through the experiences of one young Irish immigrant forced to seek a new American life on her own. In the early 1900s, Bridget leaves the turmoil and poverty of Ireland for the promise of work and better opportunity in the United States, where she faces the challenges and discrimination of immigrant life on the road to citizenship. This show is geared toward elementary and middle school students.

Registration is required to attend this program. Register through the form below or by calling 716-483-6646
