Tea Time with the Jackson Center: Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund
September 9 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Our 2021 programming theme is The Work Left to Do, and within that theme we explore a different focus each month. In the first Tea of the month, we look at a topic from a broader perspective to understand the universal and legal challenges. For the second Tea of the month, we speak with those doing the work to educate and/or advance change so we can understand the continuing challenges and how we can contribute to change in our own communities. For the month of September, our programming is focused on disability equity and disability justice.
Our September 9, 2021 guests are Susan Henderson, Executive Director, and Silvia Yee, Senior Staff Attorney, at the Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund. DREDF is a leading national civil rights law and policy center directed by individuals with disabilities and parents who have children with disabilities. Their mission is to advance the civil and human rights of people with disabilities through legal advocacy, training, education, and public policy and legislative development.
