The Robert H. Jackson Center is pleased to announce that it will invite three United States District Court Judges from the Western District of New York to take part in a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program. On Friday, October 26, 2018, the Jackson Center will welcome Chief Judge Frank Geraci, Jr., Judge Elizabeth Wolford and Judge Lawrence Vilardo to share, inter alia, their insights on best practices in federal court.
The Western District of New York is one of 94 federal district courts in the country established by Article III of the U.S. Constitution, which created the U.S. Supreme Court and authorized Congress to pass laws to establish a system of lower courts. Each state has at least one federal district court and, given the density of its population, New York state has four district courts that are designated by region (i.e. Western, Southern, Northern, Eastern).
The public is welcome to attend this free event that will begin at 1:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm. Advance registration is required online or by telephone at (716) 483-6646.
