17th Annual Young Readers Program

The Robert H. Jackson Center is thrilled to welcome Lesa Cline-Ransome as the featured speaker for its 17th Annual Young Readers Program. The Young Readers Program uses literature to engage young people with their world by inspiring them to read and hone their analytical skills and writing ability. This year, the Jackson Center has invited Lesa Cline-Ransome to speak to students on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts at 10:00 am and 1:00pm about her award winning book Finding Langston. The event is free, but preregistration for the 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. program is required below.
On February 1, 2022, students in grades 6-12 are invited to enter our Essay Contest here. Essay questions will be focused on Ms. Cline-Ransome’s book Finding Langston. The deadline for essay submissions is April 4, 2022. Four essay contest winners will be notified by mail and each one is invited to dinner with Ms. Cline-Ransome on May 16, 2022 at the Jackson Center, and will receive a $100 gift certificate and an author signed copy of Finding Langston.
