Local Students to Participate in 6th Annual Law Day Event

The Robert H. Jackson Center will hold its sixth annual Law Day event on Wednesday, May 2 from 9:30–11:30 a.m. in the Jackson CenterŐs Carl Cappa Theater. Law Day events provide opportunities to area youth to learn about civics and law in the United States. This yearŐs event is geared toward 11th and 12th grade students.

Student participants from Jamestown and Frewsburg high schools will be part of an interactive mock trial presentation on cyber stalking. Retired New York State Supreme Court Justice Joseph C. Gerace will preside. This studio presentation, which will be recorded for future use, offers students a unique opportunity to learn about the U.S. judicial system.

Sponsors for this event include the Jamestown Bar Association; the law firms of Bly, Sheffield, Bargar, Pillittieri & MacCallum; Fessenden, Laumer & DeAngelo; and Lewis & Lewis; and the Stanley A. Weeks/Robert H. Jackson and John Sember/Robert H. Jackson Center Law Day funds of the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
